The Trip

As I mentioned in the previous post, I was on my way to KB, Kelantan but as we were on our way to Kelantan. We encountered the longest traffic jam I have ever seen and we decided to stop by at Ipoh. Althought we did not get our hands on the famouse Chicken rice but we did tried something that we never try before here in KL. Then we decided to go to Kulim, Kedah instead of KB. Kulim is also the hometown of my friend VJean.

At Kulim, it serves as a hostel to us as it is onli 30minutes to Penang, which is our 2nd destination. We had our dinner at some restaurant in Kulim before heading home to sleep and prepare for our one day trip in Penang.

It didnt take us more than 30minutes to reach Penang. Our first stop in Penang is actually some dim sum hawker centre called Red Tea Dim Sum with our guide aka VJean's friend Seang. The dim sum is damn good and its damn cheap. Cost us less than Rm40 for 6person!
After dim sum, we visited kek Lok Si and looked at turtles while climbing up those stairs. We failed to reach the top as we got lost midway and we feel that the scent of asam laksa is near. We were brought to a street where we spent atleast an hour waiting for a Char Keow Teow which is quite nice but seriously not worth the wait but the Oh-Jian and Asam/Siam Laksa is good.
After everything and its not even 4pm so we went to Batu Ferringhi to walk around and let the winds of ocean greet us. We did went for a swim and built a sand turtle with limbs of different lengths. We did not stay for long because it began to rain so we gotta leave and Seang guided us back to the Penang Bridge with his soaked shirts and pants. Thx dude!

After getting back to Kulim for our stay, we rest for a day before we began our hectic journey back to Kl via Ipoh once again. We bought some Heong Peng and Tau Sar Peng as souvenirs but Weng Fu got something extra which is Yim Guk Gai aka Salt baked chicken. Then after 2 games of bowling at Ipoh Parade and late lunch at some shop, we left Ipoh and head back to KL. But as usuall, the traffic jam greets us with his shiny smile and I slept all the way back! hehe

Thanks to Vjean for his dad's Naza Ria and Kulim's stay, and not forgetting our fellow friends, Weng Fu, Elin and Pauline. Its a nice trip indeed. Pics are to be uploaded as soon as I gets them from Weng Fu!
